<<<  The Uzbek Trilogy

Synopsis

A look at the Bukhari identity of three men in the director's family. In an attempt to confront the shame he feels in his ethnicity, the director follows his immigrant father, an isolated figure, both in his family and in his adopted country. The search for a prouder, authentic origin, has him join his grandfather on a visit to Uzbekistan, perhaps his last. The three men form different versions of failed integration into Israeli society, over generations, from Tel Aviv,
to Or Yehuda, to Uzbekistan.
